and one more post on marriage

So apparently marriage/divorce/singleness/young adulthood is on a lot of people's radar this summer - I didn't anticipate so many posts on this topic! But I read another article yesterday that is worth adding to this discussion.

The cover story/topic in the August edition of
Christianity Today is on marriage - and early marriage in particular. There are several articles in the cover package (all of which I found interesting in different ways). The featured article, however, is the one most worth your time: The Case for Early Marriage, by Mark Regnerus. Don't be dissuaded by the title! His subtitle does a better job articulating the scope of the article: "Amid our purity pledges and attempts to make chastity hip, we forgot to teach young Christians how to tie the knot."

Regnerus' article is one of the best I've read when it comes to analyzing and synthesizing the complexities of marriage/divorce/singleness/young adulthood as they play out in an evangelical context. He does a good job highlighting the successes, failures, oversights, struggles, & joys in these areas of life within our faith communities.
