That said, the "after" hasn't come just yet. We got 6+ inches here last night and I am one of the fortunate ones who gets a snow day from work today. And thanks to my amazingly generous brother & parents, I have a sweet new camera to experiment with! So I've already been out to take some pictures . . . no masterpieces, but I'm having fun learning how to (hopefully) become a better photographer! More to come, I'm sure . . .

snow day
Since I lived in the Midwest for nine years, I feel like I'm entitled to think that snow is overrated :-) Don't get me wrong: snow can be beautiful - the thing I probably like most is when huge flakes are falling and everything is still and quiet (which was the scene here in Arlington last night). It's what happens after the snow comes that is not my favorite thing: the shoveling, getting your shoes & pant hems dirty, cleaning off your car, dirty slush, etc.

Just a tiny bit jealous! The snow would be fun if it would just happen in 50 degree weather! :)
