new album: The Civil Wars

The Civil Wars' new album came out a few weeks ago and it's pretty much been my Metro commuting soundtrack since I got it.  Their first album was great, but I like this one even better . . . a little bit of folk, soul, ballad, country, gospel & rock all in one. I bought the From This Valley single a year or so ago - love those lyrics.  Most-played track so far: Dust to Dust - haunting in an addicting way.  And you can't beat their harmonies.

The sad thing is that they're currently not together as a duo - they cancelled mid-tour last year and apparently haven't spoken since they recorded this album last fall.  I am certainly a supporter of them choosing what's best for them & their families - but hope that we'll see them writing & singing together again at some point in the future . . .
