it's the little things . . .

My friends will tell you that grocery shopping is one of my least favorite things to do in a given week.  So on my last outing to my neighborhood Safeway, the sight of these bagels made the trip worthwhile :-)  Thomas is my go-to brand (no offense to you NY bagel folks!) and they periodically come out with special flavors that I get (pathetically) excited about: lemon poppyseed, cranberry - but apple pie is a new one.  Anything apple + cinnamon = amazing . . .

And then another great surprise: one of my sweet students brought me apple butter from an area farmer's market. Made my day. Apple butter on an apple pie bagel . . . possible overkill?  Not in my book!
