DIY lesson learned . . .

Sometimes my goal of getting a project done quickly results in poor judgment on my part . . . this morning containing a prime example.  I wanted to touch up a chair with some wood stain and made the (stupid) decision to open the can of stain in my living room.  (What was I thinking?!)  All was going as planned until the lid somehow flipped off and landed on my cream-colored carpet.  The result?  Two round circles of wood stain & plenty of splatter.  Not the best way to start my Saturday ;-)

Thank goodness for the interwebs.  Typed in "how to remove wood stain from carpet" and was directed to this Youtube video.  WD-40.  Amazing.  I've done one round with awesome results & am hoping to get the rest of it out with the next attempt.  Tip: the longer you leave the WD-40 on the carpet, the more easily the stains come out.

Crisis averted.  Lesson learned!
