In addition to the foliage, there is something else that makes fall a great time of year in my book: college football! And so as I sit watching the ACC championship game tonight, I'm a little sad - as I am every year - that the regular season really is over.
What will I do during my free time on Saturdays now?? What will my family send texts about?! The shared experience of backing the same team brings people together in a pretty unique way - I'm reminded each fall of how much good community-building takes place every Saturday because of a game called football.
I spend the fall cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs - and although the Dawgs didn't have the best season this time around, their win over Georgia Tech last weekend certainly made a nice (and somewhat surprising!) end to the season ;-) And while there are still bowl games to look forward to after Christmas, I guess it's time to say good-bye until next August . . .
