I will praise Him still

I don't remember which year it was during my time at Wheaton, but I do remember arriving at chapel one day in particular - I was tired & didn't really want to be there & had no idea who was going to be speaking.   Instead of a speaker, however, a musician was introduced - some guy I'd never heard of: Fernando Ortega.  I distinctively remember that as soon as he started playing, I was so glad I'd shown up!  The service was worshipful & restorative for me that day - and I've enjoyed Ortega's music ever since.  Yesterday I was listening to some of his work, and this song in particular struck a chord with what I'm (hopefully) in the midst of learning these days . . .

I Will Praise Him Still

When the morning falls on the farthest hill,
I will sing His name, I will praise Him still.
When dark trials come and my heart is filled
With the weight of doubt, I will praise Him still.

For the Lord our God, He is strong to save
From the arms of death, from the deepest grave.
And He gave us life in His perfect will,
And by His good grace, I will praise Him still.
